The sixth-ranked Stanford men's golf team stands eighth after two rounds of the NCAA Golf Championships in West Lafayette, Ind.
The Cardinal, the defending national champions, moved up from a tie from 12th after the first round by shooting even-par 288 in Thursday's second round at Purdue University. With one round left to qualify for Saturday's final round, the Cardinal is cumulatively 21 over par with a total of 597, eight strokes back of leader Clemson.
