Stanford hosts the Prestige at PGA West in La Quinta with 8 players entered

FINAL RESULTS:
LA QUINTA, Calif. – Led by sophomore Daulet Tuleubayev's career-best finish of tied for sixth, Stanford Men's Golf finished eighth at The Prestige presented by Charles Schwab. The Cardinal edged out ranked opponents such as LSU, Northwestern and Arkansas en route to shooting a 2-under 850 on the Greg Norman Course at PGA West. The Cardinal posted a 5-under 279 on Wednesday.
 
"I was happy with how the guys battled all week," The Knowles Family Director of Men's Golf Conrad Ray said. "We improved every round. The Norman Course was a great test of golf and for us to have a few guys towards the top of the leaderboard is a positive step."
 
Tuleubayev was steady all week, as all three rounds were under par. He shot a first- and third-round 69 with a second round at 1-under 70. He bested his previous best finish of tied for seventh at the Pac-12 Championship last season.
 
"The individual tournament also provided some great experience for Barclay, Ashwin and David to get some quality reps on a challenging course," Ray continued. It was fun to see them have a chance to win."
 

As a team, Stanford played the par 3s at 1-over, the second-best score in the field. The Cardinal's 177 pars were tied for second-most in the field.

Career best finish of tied sixth, besting his tied seventh finish at 2019 Pac-12 Championship … began the round with three straight birdies on holes No. 10, 11 and 12 … followed with 12 straight pars before a bogey at No. 7 … played the par 3s at 1-under for the week, tied for fifth in the field … was 2-under on the par 4s, top 20 in the field …
 
T17. Henry Shimp -2 (71-68-72=211)
Tallied four birdies … was 3-over on the front nine but 2-under on the back nine to rebound and finish 2-under for the week … played the par 3s at even par … played the par 5s at 3-under, top 20 in the field.
 
T34. Ethan Ng +1 (75-68-71=214)
Had one birdie and one bogey to post an even-par 71 … played the par 4s at 1-under for the week.
 
T63. Freddie Lee +8 (75-75-71=221)
Posted five birdies in the round, second-most on the team during the day … played the par 3s at even par during the week … was also 1-under on the par 5s.
 
65. David Snyder +9 (76-78-68=222)
Had the Cardinal's best round with a 3-under 68 on Wednesday … tallied seven birdies in the round, including five on the back nine … shot even par on the par 3s.
 
The Prestige Individual Tournament
The Prestige Individual Tournament is being contested at Coral Mountain Golf Club, a par-72, 7,145-yard course.
 
3. Barclay Brown -12 (69-65-70=204)
After a career-best 65, tallied five birdies in the third round to finish in third place.
 
T7. Ashwin Arasu -7 (69-69-71=209)
Highlighted the day with four birdies to shoot a 1-under 71 and closed tied for seventh with a 7-under 209.
 
T28. David Leede +16 (82-73-77=232)
Shot a 5-over 77 in the third round with back-to-back birdies on No. 15 and 16 to highlight the day.
 
Stanford next takes the course at The Cabo Collegiate March 1-3 at Querencia Golf Club.


ROUND ONE AND TWO RESULTS:
LA QUINTA, Calif. – Stanford Men's Golf moved up to ninth as Henry Shimp and Daulet Tuleubayev both sit inside the Top 10 at The Prestige presented by Charles Schwab. Shimp and Ethan Ng led the way on Tuesday with matching 3-under 68s, while Tuleubayev fired a 1-under 70.

Over at Coral Mountain Golf Club, Barclay Brown posted a 7-under 65 at The Prestige Individual Tournament. Brown's 65 was tied for the 22nd-best score in program history.

Stayed steady at a tie for ninth … had five birdies on the day … started with three birdies in the first five holes.
 
T9. Henry Shimp -3 (71-68=139)
Moved up 14 spots and sits in the Top 10 … his 3-under 68 featured five birdies against just two bogeys.
 
T28. Ethan Ng +1 (75-68=143)
Moved up 26 spots with a 3-under 68 … was even on the back nine where he started the day … began the front nine with three straight birdies and tallied four total on the front nine.
 
T66. Freddie Lee +8 (75-75=150)
Had a birdie at No. 16 to highlight the round.
 
73. David Snyder +12 (76-78=154)
Tallied two birdies in the round.

The Prestige Individual Tournament is being contested at Coral Mountain Golf Club, a par-72, 7,145-yard course.
 
3. Barclay Brown -10 (69-65=134)
Career-best round and best round by a Stanford golfer in 2019-20 with a 7-under 65 … totaled four birdies on the front nine and three on the back nine … bogey-free round … tied for the 22nd-best round in program history by total score.
 
T5. Ashwin Arasu -6 (69-69=138)
Matched his career-best round of 69 from Monday … totaled four birdies against one bogey on the day.
 
31. David Leede +11 (82-73=155)
Was 1-over for the day, a nine-stroke improvement from Monday's round … had four birdies on the day.

Stanford sends 6 to the Big Island against a strong field

WAIKOLOA, Hawaii – Stanford Men's Golf moved up one more spot on Saturday at the Amer Ari Intercollegiate, finishing the weekend with a 5-over 869 in 15th place.

Three golfers tied for team honors with 1-under 71s on Saturday in the final round, as seniors Henry Shimp and David Snyder, along with sophomore Ethan Ng, tied that mark. Daulet Tuleubayev's 4-under 212 marked the best score for Stanford throughout the tournament.
 
15. Stanford (+4, 295-284-289-868)
T56. Ethan Ng (E, 74-71-71=216)
Started on No. 10 and was 2-over on his first nine holes of the day … was 3-under on his second nine of the day, with three birdies in a five-hole stretch.
 
T71. Freddie Lee (+2, 71-70-77=218)
Also started on No. 10 and had a tough first nine holes but was 1-under on his second nine with two birdies.
 
T79. Henry Shimp (+3, 73-75-71=219)
Made three birdies on the day, all coming in a four-hole stretch.
 
T79. David Snyder (+3, 77-71-71=219)
Was 2-under on the front nine and totaled three birdies in the round, closing the tournament with back-to-back 71s.
 
T99. Barclay Brown (+10, 78-72-76=226)            
Made three birdies during the final round on Saturday.

T32. Daulet Tuleubayev (-4, 70-68-74=212)
Closed the event with a 74 but finished at 4-under, marking the Cardinal's best score of the tournament.
 
The Cardinal return to action in just over a week for The Prestige at PGA West in Indian Wells. The three-day event will be 18 holes Monday, Feb. 17 through Wednesday, Feb. 19.

ROUND ONE RESULTS:
WAIKOLOA, Hawaii – Stanford Men's Golf began play at the Amer Ari Intercollegiate on Thursday on the Waikoloa Kings' Course, firing a 7-over 295. The Cardinal currently sits in 18th with 36 holes of golf left to play over the next two days.

Playing as an individual Daulet Tuleubayev fired a 2-under 70 on Thursday and currently sits in the Top 30. Freddie Leecontinues to play well this spring and finished with a 1-under 71 in the first round.

Continued to play well posting three birdies and a one-under 71.

Totaled a team-high six birdies in the round.
